- The Pastoral Charge:
may consist of more than one local churches; a local church is a body of persons meeting for public worship in one place. Each pastoral charge has the oversight of the spiritual interests of the Pastoral Charge by the member(s) called the Session. The management of its temporal and financial affairs shall be entrusted to a Committee of Stewards. The Official Board, consisting of the Session and Committee of Stewards with representatives in full church membership of such other departments of church work as may be agreed upon by the General Council. Meetings take place quarterly, and more frequently if they deem it advisable. - The Presbytery:
consists of members of the Order of Ministry and lay members of the United Church. This court meets monthly or bi-monthly. - The Conference:
consists of the members of the Order of Ministry who are on the roll of Presbyteries within its bounds; the lay persons who are under appointment within its bounds. This court meets once each year. - The General Council:
consists of an equal number, elected by the Conference, from each of two groups: members of the Order of Ministry and lay members appointed by a Presbytery. This is the highest court within The United Church of Canada and meetings take place every three years.
